OUR GOD WORTH
Jeremiah 1:5 and Jeremiah 31:3

Unfortunately, there are those in our churches, our neighbors, friends, family, and perhaps even ourselves who have experienced many "put-downs" over the years.  By this I mean words spoken or acts of rejection which have left people feeling they are not much good or don't have much to offer.  This is tragic as this is not how God your Creator looks at you.  I'm sure His heart is grieved to see anyone viewing themselves in this way because of what has been done to them.

Let's take a minute to consider what God the Father says in His Word.  Before you were ever conceived within your mother, God chose you (Jeremiah 1:5).  The Amplified Bible puts it this way:  "Before I formed you in the womb I knew (and) approved of you."  There use to be a quote we would hear from time to time that went like this:  "God doesn't make junk", and I would add "God doesn't create mistakes."

In this particular verse, God was speaking of Jeremiah and that even before he was born, God's purpose of his birth was to set him apart as a prophet.  That was the destiny and purpose God had for him as His vessel.  This word was not for Jeremiah alone but for each of us to understand that God's purpose of creating you and bringing you into this world , there was a purpose and plan that He had for you as well.

Jeremiah 31:3 gives us another picture of Father God's love for you.  His word is that He has loved you with an everlasting love.  Think about it.  Our parents love for us wasn't initiated until they knew of our existence.  They weren't able to love something or someone they knew nothing about.  God's love however has been and is everlasting!  That word means beyond the field of vision of time or space.  He loved you and me way before we were even formed and it was with loving kindness that He drew you.  The word loving kindness means the sense of  bowing of the neck to another as a sign of kindness or favor.

Just these two Scriptures alone tell us much of your worth and it goes far beyond what you may have heard from others...possibly even a parent.  You are of great worth.  "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."  (Psalm 139:14 NIV)
